   Leprosy Center

Leper people are considered the poorest of the poor and the untouchables of the untouchables that no one in their society has any desire to have any fellowship with them.

In January of 2009 a local land lord of a village has promised to provide a little less than half an acre of land piece of land to build homes of compassion for desperate and homeless victims of leprosy who are suffering without hope. We want this to be a residence where lepers can come and live, pray together and enjoy the rest of their life

School

Literacy Programme:
Education has been an inseparable element of missionary activity around the world. Education helps people to read and write which in turn enables them to read the Bible. And this method has been used as the primary channel of spreading the Gospel over the years. It also helps one to be deep rooted in the Word of God.

And how can they read unless they learn the language? Go back to the time when as a little child, your babbling turned into comprehensible sounds. Then you graduated to small words and sentences and finally were able to read and write well. It’s would have been a long and arduous journey turning literate. But you went through the normal process. In other words, as you grew physically, you also grew mentally, emotionally, socially and so on.

But most of the people living in India, especially in villages, shanty homes and tribal people are illiterate. In other words, they did not have the opportunity to be educated. Therefore even when they turned adults, they were unable to read and write .So our missionaries not only translate the Bible but they also teach the people how to read and write. We have Adult Literacy Programmes in some mission fields. This is yet to catch on in all fields. Once the people understand, read and write in their own language, they can grow in their knowledge of God.

North India Christian Mission Started Christian School, with just Eleven children’s and one teacher in 1997, in 2004 the school was recognised by the state government and began as a full day boarding school, today it has approximately 400 children in the main School in Barwala.

NICM aims to educate children who don’t have the opportunity to go to school due to their poor economical conditions. Many children's who are orphans, abused and children of widows or rag pickers, attend one of our school, located in various places. Apart from giving them an education, NICM is touching these young lives with the love of Christ. NICM has three main Education centers. Many of the children from the 3 centers are provided with books, bags, shoes, school uniforms and the stationery needed to go to school. Even the school fees are paid for some of the children. A medical check up for the children is done regularly to keep track of the children’s health. NICM helps more than 500 children of the lower socio-economic sections in 3 Centers with free education.

The children come from a diverse religious and cultural background including Hinduism, Jainism, Islam, Sikhism etc. Only 0.01% comes from Christian background. Besides the regular academic teaching they all are taught about that one God who is the maker of the Universe and who sent His Son Lord Jesus Christ to save them and us.School is recognized by the Government and follows the State Syllabus. Children can start from Kindergarten and study up to High School. It is ever growing and requires more space and buildings to accommodate the growing number of children. Kindly uphold this project in your prayers.
