Disaster Relief
NICM is available to help and assist in significant ways when a disaster comes to the area we serve. We work through the love of Christ to bring food and shelter to those in need. For instance, NICM was actively involved in relief efforts for the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, carrying needed clothing and other supplies to victims in the south of India. In 2010 we reached out to flood victims during the monsoon season when heavy rainfall brought intense flooding. Following the flood there was an outbreak of Dengue Fever and NICM treated hundreds of people, providing life-saving inoculations and medicines. Every Christmas season we go out to the streets and slums and hand out blankets and packets of rice to those who are hungry and homeless.
